Naturalist Charles Darwin Birthday

What happened on February 12?

All sorts of highlights on this wonderful day today!

We start by congratulating the man behind the Theory of evolution, Charles Darwin (*1809).
After studying animals and man, he connected the dots and found out that living species evolve over time. Including us, people. Fascinating!

In that same year, 1809, Abraham Lincoln was born. He would later become President of the United States of America.

One of America’s most famous cities, New York, hosted a special event on this day in 1924. George Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue‘ received its premiere in a concert titled
“An experiment in Modern Music”. Our perspective on ‘modern’ changes every day.

Very modern for his time was French engineer Louis Renault (*1877), founder of the automobile brand named after him.

Many cars were wrecked in the filming days of Leslie Nielsen (*1926) and Josh Brolin (*1968). Nowadays, movie directors mainly use computer animations for special effects. How boring…

Getting inspired is so much fun.
